This was my first 'softie' and I have to say, I wasn't really prepared for all the hand sewing. G helped quite a bit; traced and cut out the pattern pieces and even had a go at cutting the fabric out. Can you say P-R-O-U-D! She diligently watched over all the stitching steps, stuffed it to the gills and kept encouraging (that's what we'll call it) me to get the hand stitching done.
Actually I found the hand stitching something good to do while listening to the kids read and am already planning another Melly and me pattern, or 2. Introducing Lulu:
Maybe that face is only a mother and her maker (G and me) could love? Although honestly, I think the wonky muzzle just makes her more endearing. This fido is named LULU. At first I thought we should try to dissuade that name but then I found out G's best friend, Lulu has animals named Grace so we'll go with it! I forgot about the collar, bad bad pet owner, so I still need to finish that up but for now she's done and coming with us on our "beat the heat" weekend.
Speaking of ... I'd like to invite you to kick your heels up, grab a glass of ice tea and do a little shopping this weekend during our Beat the Heat sale. Check out banberry PLACE for details. Shipping will commence on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend!

As each adventure comes and goes we grow and become a better person, remember to take a minute to see the simple things each day and a minute or two for yourself my sweet daughter. Love ya mom
